    1. Hi Josh,

these numbers certainly aren’t millions, as Tesla doesn’t have that kind of production capacity yet. In 2016, twenty nine thousand, fourhundred twenty one units of the Model S were sold in the US.

    2. Thousands. The ENTIRE US car industry has a run rate of 17 million units a year. Lousy tabulating by the author who didn’t total units BY YEAR to easily see the annual sales trend…

      1. Hi Robert,
the annual sales table is right under the monthly table.

      2. Nope. These aren’t “thousands” or “millions” these are actual raw numbers.

Tesla sold 2,750 Model S cars in the USA in June 2018 — not 2.7 million!

In the same month, Mercedes sold 1,100 S-Class cars, and BMW sold 750 7-Series cars.

So Tesla’s #1 product achieves about as much as niche luxury products from other manufacturers.

  1. Why do all of these model sales data pages show the tables twice? As far as I can tell there is no distinction between the first and second set of tables.

  2. Hi I am using this data for an economics study, can I possible have the author and published date for referencing please?

  3. Do you have monthly historical data, say back to 2012? Would it be possible to get access to it?
