Toyota Verso Sales Figures

Toyota Verso

The Toyota Corolla Verso was renamed Toyota Verso in 2007 when the Toyota Auris replaced the Toyota Corolla hatchback. These statistics include sales of both the Corolla Verso (until 2007) and the Verso (from 2007 onwards). The Toyota Verso was a minivan that was produced by Toyota from 2009 to 2018. It was based on the same platform as the Toyota Corolla Verso.

Toyota Verso Overview

The Toyota Verso is a compact MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) produced by Toyota, mainly aimed at the European market. Launched as a successor to the Toyota Corolla Verso, which bore the Corolla nameplate, the Verso was marketed as a standalone model. It was designed to cater to families and individuals seeking versatility and practicality in a compact form factor.

The Verso was introduced in 2009, evolving from the earlier Toyota Corolla Verso, which was in production from 2004 to 2009. The Verso underwent several facelifts during its production run, with design tweaks and technology updates to keep it competitive. One of the main selling points of the Verso was its flexible seating system. Most models featured a 5+2 seating configuration, meaning it had five primary seats and an additional two that could be folded out from the boot area for occasional use.

The Verso’s design emphasized maximizing interior space and practicality. Its high roofline and smart interior design ensured comfortable seating, even for passengers in the third row. The Verso was powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that produced 122 horsepower and 111 lb-ft of torque. It was available with a choice of manual or automatic transmissions.

Production of the Toyota Verso for European markets ended around 2018. Factors like the increasing popularity of SUVs and crossovers, along with stringent emission standards, played a role in Toyota’s decision to cease its production.
