Suzuki Ignis Sales Figures

Suzuki Ignis

The Suzuki Ignis is a subcompact car or supermini produced by the Japanese automaker Suzuki. The Ignis features a distinctive design that merges the characteristics of both city cars and compact SUVs, giving it a unique look in its segment. This car has been through different iterations and has had a presence in many global markets. The Suzuki Ignis nameplate was revived in 2016 after the previous model was withdrawn from the European market in 2009.

Suzuki Ignis Overview

The Ignis was reintroduced in 2016 after a hiatus, with a completely new design that blends hatchback and crossover elements. The modern Ignis is characterized by its tall stance, flared wheel arches, and distinct retro design cues, such as the three slits on the rear pillars which harken back to the historical Suzuki Fronte Coupe.

Despite its compact dimensions, the Ignis offers a relatively spacious interior due to its tall design. The dashboard layout is modern and features a touchscreen infotainment system in most trims, which supports functionalities like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Ignis is typically powered by small petrol engines optimized for city driving and fuel efficiency. In some markets, Suzuki’s mild hybrid system, known as SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki), is available. The Suzuki Ignis has been well-received in various markets, particularly for its unique design, which sets it apart from many other cars in its segment. Its combination of affordability, practicality, and style makes it appealing to a wide range of customers.

The current-generation Ignis was introduced in 2020 and is available in Europe, India, and Southeast Asia. The Ignis is powered by a 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 83 horsepower and 86 lb-ft of torque. It is available with a choice of manual or automatic transmissions.

The Ignis is available in three trim levels: SZ-L, SZ-T, and GLX. The SZ-L trim comes standard with features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth, and a rearview camera. The SZ-T trim adds features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a JBL sound system, and automatic climate control. The GLX trim adds features like a sunroof, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a heated front seats.
