Nissan Pixo Sales Figures

Nissan Pixo

The Nissan Pixo is a compact city car that was produced by the Japanese automaker Nissan in partnership with Suzuki. It was introduced in 2008 and produced until 2013.

Nissan Pixo Overview

The Nissan Pixo is essentially a rebadged version of the Suzuki Alto. Both cars were developed as part of a collaboration between Nissan and Suzuki and were manufactured in the same factory in India, at Suzuki’s Manesar plant.

The Pixo was equipped with a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder petrol engine, which was designed for efficiency and to keep running costs low. This engine produced a modest power output, suitable for city driving. It was available with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic.

One of the Pixo’s selling points was its fuel efficiency, making it a cost-effective choice for urban commuting. As a city car, the Pixo was compact, making it easy to park and maneuver in urban environments. The interior was relatively basic, reflecting the car’s position as an affordable entry-level model. However, it was still equipped with essential features that catered to modern-day drivers.

The Nissan Pixo was targeted at the budget end of the car market, appealing to first-time car buyers, city dwellers, or those looking for a second vehicle for short commutes. Its price point and fuel efficiency were among its primary selling factors. The car faced competition from other compact city cars, such as the Hyundai i10, Ford Ka, and its twin, the Suzuki Alto.

While the Pixo was praised for its affordability and low running costs, it received mixed reviews when it came to driving dynamics and interior quality. Some critics felt it didn’t quite match up to some of its competitors in these areas. The Nissan Pixo ceased production in 2013. Its position in the Nissan lineup as a budget city car was somewhat taken over by models like the Nissan Micra.
