  1. Hi! I’m a car enthusiast from South America currently doing a road trip in Europe in vacation, I’m reading through your really good website trying to find the rate of station wagon vs sedan in European car sales. By looking at the roads I would think that probably even as high as 40% of all the car sales are SW. Which is amazing to me being a SW lover ! Do you have that data? I’d love that the Chilean car market would behave that way, but there are far too many SUVs….

    1. Hi JJ,

we don’t have exact information for the ratio SW vs. sedan for specific models, but I do know that in the midsized segment (3-Series etc) the ratio is 55% station wagon, 33% sedan and the rest coupe and convertible. I believe the figures will be similar in the large segment. This is for all of Europe, so some countries will be higher, others lower.

Enjoy your road trip! Give us a shout when you visit Rotterdam (-:
