The MG ONE is a compact crossover available in two versions, the α is the sportier version and the β is the high tech version, which are differentiated by slight styling differences. The ONE is planned to be a global vehicle for the MG brand with exports to Europe and other markets. It’s equipped with a huge curved horizontal touch screen in the dashboard.
Power comes from a 1.5L turbo engine with 181 hp, mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Dimensions are 4,579/1,866/1,617mm with a wheelbase of 2,670mm, which is similar to sibling MG HS and the SAIC Roewe RX5 from MG’s sister brand.
Prices range from 111,100 yuan (€ 15.500,- / US$17,400) to 138,900 yuan (€ 19.400,- / US$21,700), which is above the MG ZS (78,800 to 112,800 yuan) and overlaps with the MG HS (109,800 to 169,800 yuan). External competition comes from the Changan CS55 Plus (92,900 to 121,900 yuan), Changan UNI-T (115,900 to 138,900 yuan) and from the SAIC-Roewe RX5 (99,800 to 139,800 yuan).
