JMEV is a joint venture between Renault and Jiangling Motors, making electric cars. The Yi sedan is the first model jointly developed by the two companies. It will also be exported to Europe as the Mobilize Limo, where it will be offerted under a subscription-based model specifically to taxi companies and ride hailing drivers. Mobilize is Renault’s brand for alternative transportation and will offer a lineup of electric vehicles, all with their own specific purpose.
In China, the Yi will also be sold to private customers. It is powered by a single electric motor driving the front wheels. The motor has an output of 150hp and 220Nm of torque. Its NEDC range is up to 400km.
The Yi is priced from 139,800 yuan (€ 18.800,- / US$ 21,900) to 195,800 yuan (€ 26.500,- / US$ 30,700) which means it will compete with EVs like the GAC Aion S (139,600 to 205,800 yuan), Venucia D60 EV (150,100 to 178,800 yuan) and Xpeng P5 (157,900 to 223,900 yuan).
