Haima China Sales Figures & Recent Highlights

Haima, which stands for “Hainan Mazda,” originated from a joint venture between the Hainan provincial government and Mazda in 1988. The joint venture was established to produce Mazda models for the Chinese market. Haima produces a range of vehicles, including sedans, hatchbacks, and SUVs.

The original joint venture with Mazda eventually dissolved, and Haima became an independent automaker. Despite the dissolution, Haima continued to produce vehicles based on older Mazda platforms for some time but later moved on to develop its models. Haima primarily targets the budget to the mid-tier segment of the Chinese auto market. The brand has established a reputation for offering affordable vehicles with decent features.

Haima has been investing in research and development, aiming to improve its product quality, incorporate new technologies, and offer electric vehicles. Beyond the domestic market, Haima has made efforts to export its vehicles to various regions, especially developing markets where there’s demand for affordable cars.

In 2017, Haima was acquired by FAW Group. FAW Group has invested heavily in Haima, and it is working to improve the brand’s quality and performance. Haima is still a relatively small brand in China, but it is growing rapidly. The brand is well-positioned to continue to grow in the coming years, as it has a strong parent company in FAW Group and it is developing new and improved vehicles.
