Acura CDX Sales Figures

The Acura CDX

Acura CDX Brief Overview

The Acura CDX is a compact luxury crossover SUV produced by Acura, the luxury division of Honda. It was first introduced in 2016 for the Chinese market and has been exclusively available there. However, it’s possible that Acura may have expanded its availability to other markets after my last update. The Acura CDX is built on Honda’s Global Compact SUV platform and shares its underpinnings with the Honda HR-V. Despite its similarities to the HR-V, the CDX features distinct exterior styling and a more upscale interior, reflecting its status as a luxury offering.

In terms of performance, the CDX is typically equipped with a turbocharged gasoline engine. The specific engine options may vary based on the model year and the region in which it is sold. All-wheel drive is commonly available in the CDX, contributing to improved handling and traction in adverse road conditions. Regarding features and technology, the CDX offers various advanced amenities and safety systems. These may include premium audio systems, leather upholstery, advanced driver assistance systems, infotainment options, and more, as expected from a luxury SUV.

Acura CDX China Sales Figures

The CDX is the first Acura to be produced locally, and it’s Acura’s first China-exclusive model as well. The design is also recognizably aimed at Chinese car buyers, and it would probably appeal less in the US market. The CDX is powered by a 1,5-liter turbocharged engine with 182hp and 240Nm or torque, mated to an 8-speed Dual Clutch transmission. It’s standard front-wheel drive with optional four-wheel drive. Dimensions are 4.496/1.840/1.615mm with a wheelbase of 2.660mm. Prices start at 229.800 yuan (€ 31.200,- / US$33,400) and run up to 312.800 yuan (€ 42.500,- / US$45,500) for the top-of-the-line AWD. This undercuts the starting prices of the Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA, but is significantly higher than the Jeep Compass.
