UPDATED: NY Auto Show – the Good, the Bad and the Ugly

The New York International Auto Show is finally under way, and here are our thoughts:

Kriss: for me the good is the new Malibu, which I think looks amazing, even if the facia is a bit too busy and the engine line-up weird (a 1.5-liter turbo with only 160hp as a base engine in the US? even VW could not pull that off!)

Bart: or me, the good is the Porsche Boxster Spyder. Basic, fast and less girly than a regular Boxster.

Kriss: for me, the bad is the Cadillac CT6 – sure, the interior is unexpectedly nice, but the outside is not just derivative and dated-looking, but it looks like a stretched version of the CTS rather than an upscale design – the profile is just so long and boring!
Bart: for me, the bad would be the Kia Optima, also a great candidate for the “From Hero to Zero”-series. They’ve ruined a sharp design and made it as bland as any Korean car.
Kriss: the ugly, well, I think the Lexus RX has stolen the early lead in this race!
Bart: the ugly can only be the Scion iA. From the side, it’s exactly a Mazda2, which isn’t even such a bad thing, but that nose……… yuck
