Skoda Yeti Sales Figures

Skoda Yeti

The Å koda Yeti is a compact SUV produced by the Czech automaker Å koda Auto. Introduced in 2009, it was Å koda’s first foray into the compact SUV market, a segment that has since seen tremendous growth worldwide. The Yeti, with its distinct design and practical features, quickly gained popularity and received numerous awards during its production run. It was discontinued in 2017.

Skoda Yeti Overview

The Yeti stood out with its boxy and slightly quirky design, which distinguished it from many of its more conventionally styled rivals. This design provided a roomy interior and excellent visibility for the driver. It featured a prominent front grille that’s consistent with Å koda’s design language of the era.

One of the hallmarks of the Yeti was its interior versatility. It came with the “VarioFlex” seating system, allowing the rear seats to be individually adjusted or even completely removed, providing a range of seating and storage configurations. The cabin was intuitively laid out and built with quality materials. It also offered various “Simply Clever” features, which are smart and practical solutions that Å koda often includes in their vehicles.

The Yeti was available with a variety of petrol and diesel engines, including a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine, a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine, and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It was available with either a five-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission. There were both front-wheel-drive variants for those primarily using the car in urban settings and all-wheel-drive versions for those needing more off-road and adverse weather capability.

Critics and customers alike praised the Yeti for its driving dynamics, versatility, and value proposition. It was often lauded as being fun to drive while offering the practicality of much larger SUVs. The Yeti was a commercial success in many markets, including Europe and India, solidifying Å koda’s presence in the SUV segment. Production of the Yeti ended in 2017, and it was effectively replaced by the Å koda Karoq, a more conventionally styled compact SUV in line with the brand’s evolved design language.
